The
first basic simple internet skill is knowing how to purchase the right
computer. If you are not a gamer, you do not need an expensive video
card.
Purchase the fastest computer with the most storage you can afford.
Laptop owners should purchase a fan that goes under your computer. Computers worst enemy is heat, dust and you.
Use your laptop no longer than 3 hrs. at a time. Place a laptop in your laundry room so your can wash and surf !

Open your computer every 2-3 months and clean out the dust on the fans
and air filters. Do this before you consider taking it to a shop for
any repair. I use the canned air. Also purchase sticks of ram and
double yours.They just pop them right into slots.Cost is only $10-$15
each.Most big department stores carry them.

Opening tabs:
When you get on the computer at home page and go to a traffic exchange
for instance, you may not want to wait 10 seconds to see a lot of sites
you have already viewed. To avoid boredom, look at the tiny square
beside the open tab with your page name. Hoover it. Usually a yellow
block lights up. Click on it.
Then
go to another traffic exchange or page you want to check out.Bring up
the ad page to be surfed. All of your open named tabs just need clicked
on to go back to that page.Think of the tabs as pages spread out on a
table.
Learning to store favorites
This basic simple internet skill will help you stay organised and save
you time. When you want to put something in your favorites, think of it
as a paper to put into a file folder. Click on favorites, then new
folder (name it) Then add your page and click on save. I have a folder
in favorites for traffic exchanges, safelists, my biz websites, learning
skills and games.
Inside each page I place the links ,ads, splash-page, tips for using
site, and anything helpful. At business Communities, I place a "Let's
be friends and help each other" to copy/paste when adding
friends/connections.

Another basic simple internet skill is posting your picture online
using a cellphone, You must set that up with your cell phone provider or
have a friend take your picture who has this service. Wear a colorfull
shirt with a plain background and get some outdoor shots too. Choose
just one picture to use everywhere. Send all pictures to your email or
your friends.. Copy/paste it into your free picture site that came with
your computer. Newer computers you right click,choose "save picture
as" and it goes right to your picture folder for you. If you have
friends on Facebook who have posted your picture,get it to your picture
area by also choosing "save picture as".
Use just one user I.D. everywhere. I used foxybird foxybird123 and my old user I.D. gramfox777
This is your birthname on the internet. Use just one or add some
numbers to it if someone else already is using it at a site you join.
Resize it at http://www.picresize.com
ask for 75% reduction.Rename it Smaller. Then resize it and name the
newest one Smallest.Then you can use it anywhere. Pictures taken with a
cell phone are usually large and need resized 4 times to fit most
places.

Surfing long timer sites together
Look at your safelists. If they have in house surfing with a timer on
the sites, you can surf these together by opening new tabs.
Here
are the three Traffic exchanges I surf together. With these two
safelists, go to their internal email box (both have timers) .

http://www.easyhits4u.com/?ref=foxybird Easy hits tells you how many people are there when you are surfing. It is located just below your log-in.
This is the #1 traffic exchange because they get 300 new members a week!
If you are a member of several safe-lists that send other people's ads to your email,do this.
Open one tab for each safe-list and surf them all at once. Do not open
two from the same safelist, or you may get banned or just loose the
points.

Make print bigger or smaller by holding down the bottom left hand key ( Ctrl) while moving your mouse wheel back and fourth.

Learn the basic simple Internet Skill of copy/paste
You will have to go to Notepad or Word and type anything you want. You
will be bluing up from the bottom right of the text you want to copy and
paste across the words to the top left.
Hold down your left side of your mouse, run your blue from the bottom right all the way to the top left.
Then click on it in the center.Pick copy from the scroll down list.
Now you have the phrase in your mouse.
Next drop it by clicking the right side ,then the left of the mouse. This time choose paste. Practice it.
This takes some practice,do not give up. I had to have my grand-daughter, Brittney help me again!

Using Notebook
Another Simple Internet Skill is learning to make good use of your Notebook that came with your computer.
First find it by clicking on the bottom start button and reading the
links.If you do not see it there, click on "All Programs". Open it.
Pick "Pin to start menu". Then write your first page of notes. I
started by putting in my different Business Communities. Do one page for
each one. First I wrote about Swom.
Then open the scroll down link on the top left. Pick "save as". The box
will come up with the title xx..;, or something like that. Backspace it
to get rid of it. Then I titled my page Swom. Hit save. Now close it.
Repeat for each Social site posts,notes and links.
Then I did a page for traffic exchanges,my websites,banner links and so forth.

When
you are new on the internet,learn the simple skills like copy/paste. putting up
banners. and advertising.
When
you join a business and want to advertise it,look for safe-lists and traffic
exchanges who have a large active
customer base.
Save
your favorites on Notepad. I have free, upgraded and upgrade later.

Then open the
"add a gadget" choose Html, then drop it in the box and click
"Save Arrangement".
